On March 24th, the delegation of  Hongkong Hainan Commercial Association visited Hainan Medical University. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, former Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, was Honorary Group Leader. Chen Mingqian, Honorary President of the Hong Kong Hainan Chamber of Commerce and Managing Director of Crown International Development Limited, was Group Leader. He Junrong, Executive Vice President of the Hong Kong Hainan Chamber of Commerce and founder of Ming Deloitte Capital Limited, was Deputy Group Leader. President Chen Guoqiang, Vice Presidents Zhang Caihong, Zou Weiguo and other school leaders participated in the event, accompanying the visit to teaching and research places such as the History Museum, the Hainan Medical University-Hong Kong University Joint Laboratory of Tropical Infectious Diseases, and the Hainan Academy of Medical Sciences.

During the visit, the delegation gained a detailed understanding of the university's development process and reform achievements over the past 70 years. President Chen Guoqiang emphasized to the guests the ideal of "one year's labor is for decades' benefit; ten years' labor is for hundreds of years' benefit, so gentlemen should do it", as well as the in-depth reform in recent years with the support of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government. He stated that the collaborative research between HNMU and HKU in the field of tropical medicine has achieved significant results and has entered a new stage of high-quality development. The two sides have gradually established a technical system to support public health security in Hainan Free Trade Port, becoming a demonstration project for medical cooperation between Hainan and Hong Kong.

Mrs. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor  highly praised the effectiveness of the school's reform. She expressed that under the leadership of President Chen Guoqiang, Hainan Medical University has demonstrated admirable courage and strategic foresight in reform. She particularly appreciated President Chen Guoqiang's educational sentiment and reform courage. She hoped that Hong Kong universities and HNMU can further deepen cooperation in talent cultivation, scientific research, medical innovation, and other aspects in the future, jointly promoting the development of medical education in Hainan and Hong Kong.

During the visit, the delegation gave high attention and recognition to the founders and educational history of HNMU, the high-level platform construction, and the summer student exchange program and so on.
