Part 1 Introduction to Hainan Medical University

海南医学院是海南自由贸易港内唯一一所公办医学院，前身是创立于1947年的海强医事技术学校和创立于1948年的私立海南大学医学院，办学70余年来，为国家培养了七万余名高素质医药卫生人才，是国家第一批卓越医生教育培养计划项目试点高校、教育部第一批专业综合改革试点本科院校、海南省特色高水平大学建设单位、国家紧急医学救援队（海南）牵头单位、国家水上应急教育培训基地、国家海上紧急医学救援基地，为博士学位授予单位。

Hainan Medical University is the only public medical university in the Hainan Free Trade Port. Its predecessors are Haiqiang Medical Technical School founded in 1947 and the Medical School of Private Hainan University founded in 1948. Over more than 70 years of education, it has cultivated over 70,000 high-quality medical and health talents for the country. It is one of the first pilot universities for the National Excellent Doctor Education and Training Program, one of the first pilot undergraduate institutions for comprehensive professional reform under the Ministry of Education, a university constructing high-level distinctive universities in Hainan Province, the lead institution of the National Emergency Medical Rescue Team (Hainan), the National Water Emergency Education and Training Base, and the National Maritime Emergency Medical Rescue Base. It is a university authorized to confer doctoral degrees.

学校座落在素有“椰城”之称的热带滨海城市—海南省省会海口市，现有两个校区，城西校区位于海口市龙华区，桂林洋校区（在建）位于海口市江东新区。设有20个教学机构，形成了从专科生到本科生、硕士研究生、博士研究生，从全日制到成人教育、留学生教育、继续教育的全方位、多层次的人才培养体系。现有全日制在校生15340人，其中博士研究生84人，硕士研究生1676人，本科生11055人，留学生633人，专科生1323人，本科预科生50人。

The university is located in Haikou, the capital city of Hainan Province, a tropical coastal city known as the "Coconut City". It currently has two campuses. The Chengxi Campus is situated in Longhua District, Haikou, while the Guilin Yang Campus (under construction) is located in Jiangdong New Area, Haikou. It has 20 academic institutions and has developed a comprehensive, multi-level talent training system covering students from junior college, undergraduate, master’s to doctoral programs, as well as full-time education, adult education, international student education and continuing education. There are 15,340 full-time students on campus, including 84 doctoral students, 1,676 master’s students, 11,055 undergraduates, 633 international students, 1,323 junior college students and 50 undergraduate preparatory students.

学校开设医学、理学、管理学等3个学科门类30个本科专业，拥有国家一流本科专业建设点5个、国家级特色专业2个、国家级实验教学示范中心1个、国家级临床教学培训示范中心1个，临床医学是海南首个ESI前1%学科，药学和临床医学通过教育部专业认证。拥有国家临床重点建设专科9个，海南省一流学科7个。现有临床医学一级学科博士学位授权点，基础医学、临床医学、药学、中医学、生物学等5个一级学科硕士学位授权点，临床医学、公共卫生、护理、药学、口腔医学等5个专业硕士学位授权点。2006年以“良好”成绩通过普通高等学校本科教学工作水平评估，2017年通过普通高等学校本科教学工作审核评估。

The university offers 30 undergraduate programs covering 3 disciplinary categories, namely Medicine, Science and Management. It has 5 national first-class undergraduate program construction sites, 2 national featured specialties, 1 national experimental teaching demonstration center and 1 national clinical teaching and training demonstration center. Clinical Medicine is Hainan's first discipline ranked in the top 1% of ESI. Pharmacy and Clinical Medicine have passed the professional accreditation by the Ministry of Education. The university boasts 9 national key clinical specialties under construction and 7 first-class disciplines of Hainan Province. It currently holds a doctoral degree authorization point for the first-level discipline of Clinical Medicine, five master's degree authorization points for first-level disciplines including Basic Medicine, Clinical Medicine, Pharmacy, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Biology, as well as five professional master's degree authorization points covering Clinical Medicine, Public Health, Nursing, Pharmacy and Stomatology. The university passed the Undergraduate Teaching Level Assessment of General Higher Education with a "Good" rating in 2006 and the Undergraduate Teaching Audit Assessment of General Higher Education in 2017.

学校以热带医学为办学特色，形成了稳定的热带医学研究方向，构建了教学、科研、临床“三位一体”的热带医学体系。建立了热带转化医学、急救与创伤研究2个教育部重点实验室和1个国家卫健委热带病防治重点实验室，主办《Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine》《Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine》是国内仅有两种被SCI收录的全英文国际热带医药杂志，分列全球SCI热带医学期刊第10位和第18位。《Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine》影响因子首次突破3，跻身Q2区，再创历史新高。主办《One Health Bulletin》是中国首创的全健康领域国际性学术杂志。

The university boasts a high-quality teaching team, with 1,182 full-time teachers at present, including 850 with senior professional and technical titles and 181 professors. The proportion of teachers holding doctoral degrees stands at 43.49%. It has 8 academician workstations, 9 part-time academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 4 recruited Yangtze River Scholars, 7 national-level candidates for the National Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Project, 3 National Outstanding Teachers, 1 National Distinguished Teacher of Tertiary Education in Traditional Chinese Medicine, 28 experts enjoying special government allowances from the State Council, 4 recipients of the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University sponsored by the Ministry of Education, and 7 Hainan Provincial High-Level Outstanding Talents.

Featuring tropical medicine as its distinctive school-running characteristic, the university has developed established research directions in tropical medicine and built a tripartite tropical medicine system integrating teaching, scientific research and clinical practice. It has established 2 Key Laboratories of the Ministry of Education for Tropical Translational Medicine and Emergency & Trauma Research, as well as 1 Key Laboratory for Tropical Disease Prevention and Control of the National Health Commission. The university publishes *Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine* and *Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine*, the only two fully English international journals on tropical medicine and pharmacy in China indexed by SCI, ranking 10th and 18th respectively among global SCI tropical medicine journals. The impact factor of *Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine* has exceeded 3 for the first time, entering the Q2 quartile and setting a new record high. It also sponsors *One Health Bulletin*, the world’s first international academic journal in the field of One Health originated in China.

学校拥有教学实践、实习基地101家。附属海南医院、第一附属医院、第二附属医院等3所三级甲等综合医院为直属附属医院，省中医院为海南医学院中医学临床学院，另有非直属附属医院8所、教学医院12所，为临床教学提供了有力保障。

The university has established 101 teaching practice and internship bases. It has three directly affiliated tertiary Class A general hospitals, including Hainan Affiliated Hospital, the First Affiliated Hospital and the Second Affiliated Hospital. Hainan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine serves as the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Hainan Medical University. In addition, there are 8 non-directly affiliated hospitals and 12 teaching hospitals, which provide strong support for clinical teaching.

学校坚持开放办学，与美国内布拉斯加大学、瑞士巴塞尔大学、泰国玛西隆大学、香港大学、上海交大医学院、南京医科大学等国内外知名大学建立了合作关系；与美国Samuel Waxman癌症研究基金会、上海交通大学医学院附属瑞金医院联合成立“衰老与肿瘤国际研究中心”；与英国西英格兰大学共同申办中外合作办学机构海南医学院西英格兰学院；发起成立了由30个国家和地区的122所高等院校、科研机构组成的“一带一路”热带医学联盟，已成功举办4届国际热带医学高峰论坛。

The university adheres to the philosophy of open education and has established cooperative relations with renowned universities at home and abroad, including the University of Nebraska in the United States, the University of Basel in Switzerland, Mahidol University in Thailand, the University of Hong Kong, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, and Nanjing Medical University. It jointly founded the International Research Center for Aging and Cancer with the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation in the United States and Ruijin Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. Together with the University of the West of England, it applied for and established Hainan Medical University - University of the West of England, a Chinese-foreign cooperative education institution. The university initiated the Belt and Road Tropical Medicine Alliance, which consists of 122 universities and research institutions from 30 countries and regions, and has successfully held four International Tropical Medicine Summit Forums.

学校弘扬“自强不息、团结向上、奋发有为”精神，秉承“厚德、严谨、博学、和谐”校训，树立培养“红色医生”教育思想，创办了海南省首个高校毕业生创业孵化基地，学生荣获高教杯全国大学生数学建模竞赛本科组一等奖、第一届全国医药院校药学中药学实验教学改革大赛特等奖等多项国家级奖项，荣获“全国普通高等学校毕业生就业工作先进集体”“全国高等学校创业教育研究与实践先进单位”等多项荣誉。

The school promotes the spirit of "self-improvement, unity and progress, and aspiration for achievement", upholds the school motto of "virtue, rigor, erudition and harmony", and establishes the educational philosophy of cultivating "red doctors". It has built Hainan's first incubation base for college graduates' entrepreneurship. Its students have won many national awards including the first prize in the undergraduate group of the National College Mathematics Modeling Competition and the special prize in the 1st National Pharmaceutical and TCM Colleges Experimental Teaching Reform Competition of Pharmacy and Chinese Materia Medica. The school has also received numerous honors such as the National Advanced Collective for Graduate Employment in General Institutions of Higher Education and the National Advanced Unit for Research and Practice of Entrepreneurship Education in Colleges and Universities.

注：1.我校不招收色盲、色弱者。学生报到后将进行色盲、色弱检查，不符合条件者取消录取资格。2.父母双方或一方为中国公民并定居在外国，本人出生时即具有外国国籍且不具有中国国籍，以国际学生身份申请进入我校学习者。自2023年起，满足学校国际学生的其他报名条件外，还应持有有效的外国护照或国籍证明文件4年(含)以上，且最近4年(截至入学年度的4月30日前)之内有在外国实际居住2年以上的记录(一年中实际在外国居住满9个月可按一年计算，以入境和出境签章为准)。3.未满18周岁者须有在琼成年中国公民作为监护人。

Notes: 1. Our university does not admit students with color blindness or color weakness. A color blindness and color weakness test will be conducted after student registration. Those who fail to meet the requirements will have their admission revoked. 2. Applicants who apply to our university as international students, where either or both parents are Chinese citizens settled in a foreign country, and the applicant acquired foreign nationality at birth without Chinese nationality. Starting from 2023, in addition to meeting other application requirements for international students of the university, such applicants must hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for at least 4 years, and have a record of actual residence in a foreign country for more than 2 years within the most recent 4 years (before April 30 of the admission year). A full 9 months of actual residence in a foreign country within one year counts as one year, verified by entry and exit stamps. 3. Applicants under the age of 18 must have an adult Chinese citizen residing in Hainan as their guardian.

说明：按照中国相关法律规定，无特殊原因，外国留学生第一年必须居住在学生宿舍，第二年起可根据相关管理规定由学生提交申请和租房相关材料，提交材料后可在学校附近自行租房居住。

Note: In accordance with relevant laws of China, international students must live in student dormitories during their first year of study unless there are special reasons. Starting from the second year, students may submit applications and relevant rental documents in accordance with applicable administrative regulations. After the documents are submitted, they can rent accommodation off-campus near the university.

★1不论录取与否，提交的申请材料一律不予退还。本人承诺所提供的个人信息、证明材料、证件真实准确，若有诚信问题，一律不得录取。

★2提交申请材料的同时须提供申请人联系电话和电子邮箱。

★3本科学历教育申请者需参加学校组织的入学考试（数学、物理、化学、生物）作为录取参考。

★4对于1+5年制学生，一年后如获得HSK4级证书可申请进入临床医学本科专业学习；未能取得证书者，可选择离校或按照5年制学生入学标准要求执行。

★5对于5年制学生，入学时未取得HSK4级证书，但已具备相应的汉语语言能力，可申请参加我校组织的《国际汉语能力标准》水平考试，通过该考试获得入学资格的学生允许在临床医学专业试读一年，但必须在此期间获得HSK4级证书，并完成临床医学专业相应的学习。如仍未能取得证书，将取消试读资格。

★6特别提醒：我校毕业证与学位证专业名称为“clinical medicine”，申请我校临床医学1+5年制及5年制学生，申请前请自行与所在国家确认，毕业后是否具备相应执业资格。

★4 For students under the 1+5-year program, those who obtain the HSK Level 4 certificate after one year may apply to enter the undergraduate program in Clinical Medicine. Those who fail to obtain the certificate may choose to leave the school or follow the admission requirements for the 5-year program.

★5 For 5-year program students who do not hold the HSK Level 4 certificate upon admission but possess the corresponding Chinese proficiency, they may apply to take the Standard of Chinese Language Proficiency Test organized by our university. Students who pass this test and obtain admission eligibility are allowed to undertake a one-year probationary study in the Clinical Medicine program. They must obtain the HSK Level 4 certificate and complete the corresponding studies of the Clinical Medicine program within this period. Failure to obtain the certificate will lead to the cancellation of probationary eligibility.

★6 Special Reminder: The major name stated on our university’s diploma and degree certificate is "clinical medicine". Students applying for the 1+5-year and 5-year Clinical Medicine programs shall verify with the authorities in their home country by themselves before application whether they can obtain the corresponding professional practicing qualification after graduation.

Part V Application Process

一、提交入学申请。申请人将所有申请材料在申请截止日期前发送至学校指定邮箱hnmu_admission@hainmc.edu.cn。

1. Submit the admission application. Applicants shall send all application materials to the designated school email address hnmu_admission@hainmc.edu.cn before the application deadline.

★申请海南省政府奖学金者，需在2023年4月15日前寄送相关材料，逾期不予受理。

★Applicants for the Hainan Provincial Government Scholarship must send the relevant materials by April 15, 2023. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.

二、资格审查及考核。学校组织专家进行资格审查、入学考核，确定拟录取名单，并发放录取通知书。

II. Qualification Review and Assessment. The school organizes experts to conduct qualification reviews and admission assessments, determine the proposed admission list, and issue admission notices.

三、邮寄通知书。学校确认学生学习意向后，将《录取通知书》和《外国留学人员来华签证申请表》（JW202表）原件邮寄给申请人。

III. Mailing the admission notice. After the school confirms the student's intention to study, it will mail the original copies of the Admission Notice and the Visa Application Form for Foreign Students Coming to China (Form JW202) to the applicant.

四、办理签证。申请人在接到我校录取通知书和《外国留学人员来华签证申请表》（JW202表）后，自行到中国大使馆或总领事馆办理签证手续。

IV. Visa Application. After receiving the admission notice from our university and the Visa Application Form for Foreign Students Coming to China (Form JW202), applicants shall go through visa procedures on their own at the Chinese Embassy or Consulate General.

五、报到注册。申请人在录取通知书上规定的报到截止日期前，持录取通知书及所有申请材料的原件、复印件到我校报到。

V. Registration. Applicants shall report to our university with the admission notice and the original and copied versions of all application materials before the registration deadline specified on the admission notice.

报到截止日期：汉语预科生和本科学历生的报到截止日期分别为2023年3月30日、2023年9月20日。因故不能按期报到者，应提前向我校提交证明材料办理请假手续，请假时间最长不得超过2周，经批准后方可延期入学，否则取消入学资格。

Registration Deadline: The registration deadlines for Chinese language preparatory students and undergraduate students are March 30, 2023 and September 20, 2023 respectively. Those who cannot register on schedule due to special reasons shall submit supporting documents to our university in advance to complete leave procedures. The maximum leave period shall not exceed two weeks. Admission can be deferred only upon approval; otherwise, the admission qualification will be revoked.

第六部分 奖学金

一、海南省政府国际学生奖学金

学校根据上级部门分配给我校的“海南省政府国际学生奖学金”名额及《海南医学院“海南省政府国际学生奖学金”管理办法》确定最终海南省政府奖学金获得者，申请人可在规定时间内向学校提交申请材料。

海南省政府奖学金获得者入学后须按规定参加奖学金年度评审。评审不合格者，将被中止或者取消享受奖学金的资格。

二、海南医学院国际学生奖学金

学校在每学年末评选“海南医学院国际学生奖学金”，用于奖励在校期间品学兼优的国际学生。

Part Six Scholarships

I. Hainan Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students

The university determines the final recipients of the Hainan Provincial Government Scholarship based on the quota of the "Hainan Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students" allocated to the university by higher authorities and the Measures for the Administration of the "Hainan Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students" of Hainan Medical University. Applicants may submit application materials to the university within the specified period.

Recipients of the Hainan Provincial Government Scholarship must participate in the annual scholarship review as required after enrollment. Those who fail the review will have their scholarship eligibility suspended or revoked.

II. Hainan Medical University Scholarship for International Students

The university selects recipients of the Hainan Medical University Scholarship for International Students at the end of each academic year to reward international students with good academic performance and moral conduct during their studies at the university.
